Meet Your Hosts – The Agate Lake Resort Family

Greetings! We’re Don and Halley, along with our sons, Izzadore (Izzy) and Ozzwynn (Ozzy), and we’re honored to welcome you to Agate Lake Resort—our family-owned, four-season haven in beautiful Nisswa, Minnesota.
 

This resort is more than just a business to us—it’s the fulfillment of a lifelong dream. As a young girl, Halley spent summers with her family at a small, family-run resort, and it was during those formative years that her dream of owning and operating her own resort was born. Together, we have continued that tradition, vacationing in northern Minnesota every summer, always imagining the day we could create a place of our own where families could connect, relax, and make lifelong memories.
 

That dream has now come true.
 

Halley brings over 15 years of experience in hospitality, sales, and operations, with a degree in Hospitality Management and a strong background in wedding and event planning. Don is a certified welder and skilled in machine operation, maintenance, and repair, with additional experience in firefighting and emergency services. Together, we form a dynamic, hands-on team, supported by our incredible ALR staff.
 

We are deeply grateful for the legacy and history of Agate Lake Resort. Many of you have made cherished memories here over the years, and we are committed to honoring that tradition while continuing to grow and care for this very special place. It is our sincere hope that Agate Lake Resort becomes (or remains!) your family’s go-to getaway—a sanctuary to rest, reconnect, and enjoy the natural beauty of God’s creation.
