HISTORY OF AGATE LAKE RESORT
A Legacy of Lakeside Hospitality Since 1948
Agate Lake Resort has been welcoming families to the shores of beautiful Agate Lake since 1948. With its crystal-clear waters and peaceful pine-studded setting, it has long been a treasured destination for generations of guests seeking rest, recreation, and reconnection.
The resort was originally operated by Bob and Joyce Watson, who helped establish its reputation as a quiet, family-friendly retreat. In 1972, Darrel and Irene Johnson, along with their five children, took over operations and continued to build on that vision with warmth and dedication.
In 1993, the resort passed into the caring hands of Bill and Theresa Garry. They raised their four children at Agate Lake Resort, and the entire family played an active role in daily operations, creating a welcoming environment and strong sense of community that many guests still fondly remember.
In April 2021, Don and Halley Acton became the proud owners of Agate Lake Resort. With a passion for hospitality and a commitment to preserving the resort’s rich history, Don and Halley—alongside their sons Izzy and Ozzy—look forward to honoring the legacy of those who came before them while continuing to create a space where new memories are made every season.
From generation to generation, Agate Lake Resort remains a place where families gather, friendships grow, and traditions live on.
