Job Description

Are you interested in the hospitality industry and seeking a fun and rewarding internship opportunity? Join us at Agate Lake Resort and spend your summer up north on the lake!

Our paid summer internship is a 12 week structured program with flexibility for start and end dates. As an intern, you will assist managers, help train and
motivate employees, and engage with guests while learning to run a successful  and efficient business that delivers a superb and safe vacation for all guests.

Interns will be responsible for organizing, implementing, and supervising activities for guests of all ages on site at the resort. Some activities may include but not limited to: arts and crafts, weekly Welcome Parties, Bingo, Trivia, Movie Nights, Karaoke Nights, and Sports Activities. Responsibilities include maintaining a safe, fun environment while providing enjoyable and educational activities. Excellent verbal communication and experience working with children, teens, and families is important.

This internship will work directly with our sales and marketing team on social media campaigns and have the opportunity to make decisions about certain marketing strategies. A strength in photography and/or graphic design is a plus!

Interns are a key component in delivering exceptional guest service as you will be face to face with guests on a regular basis. Job duties include guest orientation of our property, check-in/check-out procedures, reservation processing, data entry, telephone communications, answering guest questions, responding to guest requests, and other duties as needed.

Interns will have an opportunity to assist with gift shop operations and tracking sales and managing inventory. Additionally, interns will learn about merchandising along with order processes.

Agate Lake Resort does have a full liquor license, but we have not yet made use of this. Interns may be scheduled to serve wine and beer in the lodge if we do open that facet of our business this summer.

Agate Lake Resort sits on 20 beautiful acres in the Northwoods with a large, sandy lakeshore to maintain. Our team works extremely hard to keep the grounds well-manicured for our guests and visitors alike. Interns will help with all aspects of lawn care and maintenance.
